10 things you may not know about Whitefish Lake

  1. Whitefish Lake has a maximum depth of 105 feet.
  2. The lake is 800 acres in size.
  3. The lake has two kinds of invasive snails the Banded and Chinese Mystery snail.
  4. The lake has two kinds of invasive plants-Curly-Leaf Pondweed and Eurasian Water-Milfoil.
  5. Whitefish Lake has the species of fish known as whitefish most of which are caught through the ice in March.
  6. Whitefish Lake has good populations of musky, walleye, large and small mouth bass, northern pike and panfish.
  7. The minimum length of walleye that you can keep is 18 inches.
  8. Right after “ice out”, many walleye can be observed spawning in the outlet creek on the North East end of the lake.
  9. Water clarity of whitefish lake exceeds an average of 10 feet.
  10. You are at the only pubic landing on the lake.
