Geocache Description:

When I first thought of this series, I thought it would  be easy.  Just make a list of my favorite children's books and find a place to hide a cache.  I didn't realize I had so many favorites.  I narrowed the list down.  Still too many so I decided to feature picture books.  Most of the books in this series are favorites that I've read to children when I worked in the library at an elementary school.

CACHE IS NOT AT POSTED COORDINATES.  (But you may park here.)

Please bring your own writing tool.  This is not a winter friendly cache.  (Sorry about that!)

STOPPING BY WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING.  Written by Robert Frost.  Illustrated by Susan Jeffers

I am a big fan of illustrator, Susan Jeffers.  She has captured the quiet reflective mood of Robert Frost's poem with illustrations in soft grays and white with just a touch of color.  This is the first picture book version of the poem

When I went out to place this cache, I wasn't sure of the title I wanted for this area.  I hid the cache, turned around to get back on the trail and a beautiful gentle snow started falling.  What came to mind was "...and gentle wind and downy flake."  That settled the name of the cache!

Some how I submitted this with part of the title missing and without the quiz to solve the puzzle. I blame it on my computer, which was giving me trouble when I was trying to put in what I needed for this cache. You get a bonus. The coordinates for the cache are: N43 36.990 W 084 10.834

The trails here are very muddy but you should be able to skirt around the mud holes without sinking!

You will not need to go on Dow property. Turn on Ridgewood off of Patrick (right next to Davenport University) and there will be a driveway at the posted coordinates that you can park at. Don't drive to chain, park just so you're off the road.

Congratulations 2xArcher...FTF!
