A relatively quick find near a historic monument, not too far out of town.
My old school bus used to do the round trip to here as a child and it always made me daydream as it wove through the hills, past the lush paddocks, cute houses and shady creek.
The damage from the Black Saturday fires can still be seen, although the bush has recovered quite well.
The monument was erected in 1927, commemorating Paul Edmund Strzelecki who passed here in 1840. The plaque was donated by the Polish Association and unveiled in 1966.
The Koornalla Memorial plaque is located on the rock wall and consists of a brass plaque acknowledging the devastating bushfires that swept though the valley and platings of creeping plants along the rock wall. WATCH OUT FOR JUMPING JACK ANTS
The cache you are looking for is a small plastic container with logbook and pencil, and RockMaster326's contribution - $2 AND the first geocaching treasure he ever found (not sure exactly what it is, but it's special, ok?).
