Taiziwan Park (太子湾公园, a.k.a Prince Bay Park) is located on Nanshan Road and backs on Nanping Hill, roughly on the southwest side of West Lake. The name of the bay dates from the Southern Song Dynasty (1127–1279), when it was a shallow bay. Due to its serene, peaceful, and solemn environment, it was chosen as the burial place for two princes of the Southern Song. That's why it was called Taiziwan Park (Prince Bay Park in English). Taiziwan Park is famous for its tulips which were imported from Netherlands in 1992, and it has held annual tulips exhibition ever since. Normally, the exhibition lasts from late March to late April for a period of 20 days. During the period, over 300,000 blooms create an exotic mosaic of color and beauty. It is a must-see highlight for tourists who visit Hangzhou in April. In addition, with its pretty scenery and lucky name, the Prince Bay Park has made itself the earliest park for the wedding, a park specially designed for the Western- and Chinese-style wedding.
Taiziwan Park is a traditional Chinese landscaped garden, it takes a water channel of West Lake as the main line to build the bridges and related sites, and forms several attractions like Pipa Islet and Jade Garden. On the basis of the traditional gardening art of China, the whole park design also absorbs the western gardening art to express an aesthetic feature of nature and unrestraint. There are thousands of cherry trees sourcing from Tokyo, Japan. In mid March, it is in blooming summit, and the whole park is in a world of snow-white flowers.
Taiziwan Park attracts a lot of visitors yearly, but it is most beautiful during the spring, when the place is bursting with blossoming flowers and when the apple and cherry trees are in full bloom. Despite its sheer natural beauty and the relaxing sight of small rivers and far-off mountains, the park is not that far from the downtown area of Hangzhou. Thus, it is like a little natural paradise in the middle of the city that even busy folks can escape to for a bit of relaxation.
The cache is a small see-through lock & lock plastic food storage container with a logbook, a pencil and a sharpener. The cache is on the hillside of Nanping Hill which is about 130 meters high. I put it in a crevice of a vary large rock at right side of the stone stairs up to the hill. I think it is very easy to find, wish you good luck!
