Please note: there is no Geocache at the coordinates listed for this cache.
The coordinates will get you to the general vicinity of the Geocache/Letterbox. To find the actual container, you'll have to solve the letterboxing clues.
If you have a letterboxing stamp, please bring it, along with an inkpad. If you don't, just sign the book. The container is small, but feel free to leave small items or a Travel Bug.
The letterboxing clues are available at the Letterboxing Nebraska web site at http://interbug.com/letterboxing.
They are reproduced here, as well.
Codename: Lunar Odyssey
(The letterbox has another name, but I don't want to mention it here, as it would easily divulge the location)
Your mission is to land upon the surface of the Moon and safely return. Mission Control requires that you navigate to a specific spot and record your visit with your standard mission recording equipment.
The Location
Northwest Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska. A landing spot has been preselected for you. Mission Control reports that many alien artifacts appear to have been left behind. These artifacts can be used to aid navigation on the lunar surface. Keep in mind that some topographic features of the lunar landscape can wreak havoc with the magnetic systems of your compass. You may have to be creative when using your compass.

The Clues
- Utilize the satellite imagery available [here] to arrive at the general area.
- A gate may prevent you from driving your Lunar Rover directly to the letterbox site.
- From the gate, travel North to the third tower. Stand at the base of the western column. Your compass may become useless at this location.
- Shoot a bearing at 100 degrees to the treeline. Look for two dead trees which are leaning against a mulberry tree. (Yeah, sure, you can find ripe mulberries on the Moon!)
- The letterbox lies at the base of these two dead trees.
Hint: As long as it lasts, look for a small rock cairn along the side of the gravel road. This was spontaneously built by my daughter and is close to where you might park your rover.
