Zolpidem (C19H21N3O) is used for the short term treatment of insomnia. It is a short acting non-benzodiazepine hypnotic of the imidazopyridine class that potentiates the inhibitory effects of GABA, a neurotransmitter. Common side effects include diarrhoea and impaired alertness the next morning. Infrequently, Zolpidem can cause amnesia, sleepwalking and other bizarre behaviour such as sleep driving and sleep eating. Long term use is associated with drug tolerance and rebound insomnia. Zolpidem has the potential for either medical misuse when the drug is continued long term without or against medical advice or recreational use when the drug is taken to achieve a "high". Zolpidem has raised unfavourable media attention in recent years involving drug abuse by some high profile sports players and accidental deaths of people under the influence of the drug. To limit the opportunity for misuse and adverse effects, the TGA issued guidelines to restrict the prescribing quantity to 2 weeks’ supply only; and included a warning on packaging regarding potentially dangerous sleep-related behaviours.

The cache is a camouflaged bison tube at the edge of private property. Please respect the resident’s property and do not proceed beyond the cache which is close to the road. There is enough room to park nearby but do not park across or in the driveway. It is acreage property so if being close to private houses bothers you, you will not have to worry here – the cache is not within sight of the house.
