Yanggong Causeway is located in the west of West Lake, it is one of ”Three Causeways of West Lake” along with Bai Causeway and Su Causeway. In November 2002, the Hangzhou government decided to restore the area around Yanggong Causeway as it was turning into a wetland again. This area was carefully conserved and expanded such that West Lake’s water surface area grew from 5.6 to 6.5 square kilometers.

Along southern end of Yanggong Causeway there are a lot of new scenic spots like "Deep Turtle Pool (Wuguitan 乌龟潭)" and "Reminiscence of Ancient Noted Personages at Santai Hill (Santai Mengji 三台梦迹)". Since most of this area is a wetland, visitors can find secluded pools and wildlife that differs from other parts of the lake. Yangyong Causeway scenic area is also more tranquil than Bai Causeway and Su Causeway as it is a newly opened area, and fewer tourists have ventured there. So it is a perfect place for hiding a cache.
The cache is near a thatched pavilion called "Snow Boat 雪舫" in the "Santai Mengji" scenic area (scenic spot 7 on the map). The cache container is a small metal candy box with a logbook, a pen, and some toys in it. I put the box into a plastic ziploc plastic bag, and then warped it with a black garbage bag to prevent it from rain and water.

If you are a tourist, it is suggested to take a West Lake Cruises to visit Mid-lake Islet(湖心亭) and Fairy Islet (小瀛洲) scenic spots in the center of West Lake, and get off at Huagang Park(花港观鱼公园) on the Su Causeway and then enter the park from it's east entrance. After enjoy the beautiful views of the scenic spots in the park, leave the park from it's west entrance at Yanggong Causeway. This is the typical itinerary of a One Day Tour of West Lake for most of the tourists. You will find that you are not far from the the cache, then you can start your venture to find it now. Wish you good luck.
