Start by the bus stop* (‘parada de autobus’) in Fondales, the recommended parking spot. Walk east past the Fuente de Fondales, and where the road divides carry on in the same direction to a t-junction, turn right downhill to the fence and then left under the ‘tinao’ of Casa del Pozo, the name is on the wall to your left. The cache is to the right where there is an orange tree behind some wire. The cache is not an orange!
Stealth is required as people do walk by, but don’t worry about the people in Casa del Pozo, they know all about the cache!
To get to the next cache carry on under the tinao along this path. It is marked as the path to Ferreirola if you can spot the sign. You can pick up the cache Encina GC2RKQB along the way, which is not one of mine, but which I have included as #4. Arriving in Ferreirola go up to the church and across the plaza to the Fuente Lavadero de Ferreirola. Then follow the directions in Elefante 5 Fuente Gaseosa – Ferreirola GC6FCKD.
If you want to go to the Puente Romano from here walk the other way from Casa del Pozo, bear left downhill to reach Plaza Gerald Brennan (he actually lived here as an old man), and turn left where it is clearly marked as the path to Orgiva. The path is then very clear (but steep in parts) down to the roman bridge and the cache Elefante 13 Puente Romano GC5D669.

Comenzar por la parada de autobús en Fondales, el aparcamiento recomendado. ** This valley, the lower part of La Taha, is a particularly lovely area. It is presided over by the mountain across the river to the south, the proper name of which is 'Corona', but which looks rather like a sleeping elephant. Its head is to the left with a clearly marked ear - use your imagination! So this series is called 'Under the Elephant'. See the bookmark list Debajo el Elefante - Under the Elephant. It celebrates the several villages in the valley and with some pre-existing caches outlines a nice circular walk. The full walk takes about four hours, not including stops for refreshment and caching. Especially in hot weather you should carry water; there is none between a few hundred metres east of Ferreirola and Fondales. There are several shorter walks possible staying on the north side of the river.

** Este valle, la parte baja de La Taha, es un campo particularmente encantador. Está presidida por la montaña a través del río al sur, llama propiamente 'Corona', pero se ve algo como un elefante dormido.
