I'm no bird watcher but I see plenty of people who are in this area including a friend of mine who seems to have this uncanny ability to identify any bird that makes a noise! Very often there's a story or wives tale along with it and this bird is no exception. So this cache, the first I have ever placed is dedicated to him, I've called it Chiffchaff, another one of those on the identified list! The story for this one is that once you hear this bird you can be sure that spring has arrived.
If you're feeling adventurous there’s a great walk if you head South along the sea wall. The walk takes you along an all year accessible footpath with a reserve to the left and sea to your right. If you time it right you can arrive in the Heybridge Basin where you can grab a ploughman’s. Head back along the Chelmer and Blackwater navigation. Cross at the bridge and after a short walk between the houses you’re back where you started.
I'm a regular in the area and as this is my first cache I will be making sure things are ok. The cache is upside-down to keep water out, if you find it you will understand. Good luck.
If you need it the cache type is in the hint.
