Geocache Description:

Stonewall Falls is a waterfall located in Nye County, Nevada.  I learned of this place through an article in the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Stonewall Falls is accessed by leaving US Highway 95 just past the Lida Junction intersection.  Follow the good dirt roads using your GPS until you reach the gate at the boundary of the USAF Nellis Range.  Read the sign and proceed after opening the gate. Close the gate behind you.  The waterfall is not  on range property, but there will be no gate or sign as you exit the range.  Stonewall Falls is formed by a spring that flows out of Stonewall Mountain.  Water flows down the side of the mountain for about 400 feet in a series of steps.  The amount of water is reported to be variable, but there was a good flow the day we were there.  There is also a short horizontal mine shaft dug into the rock wall just to the right of the canyon that the falls are in.  The cache container is a German Butter Dish.
