BRAILLE Traditional Cache

The cache consists of an ammo box.  You will have to figure out the combination in order to sign the log.  Everything you need to open the padlock is provided.

10 things you may not know about Braille and the Braille Code.

                    1.  Louis Braille was born in France on Jan 4^th 1809. He was blinded at age 3 by an awl in his father’s Harness shop.

2.  Louis Braille was 15 when he invented the Braille Code.

2.  The 6 dot cell is used all over the world with people of many different languages.

3. Braille takes up much more space than print.

4. The U.S. Postal service allows people who use Braille to send and receive books, equipment, and other materials free.

5    An asteroid was named after Louis Braille-August 5, 1999 it is called: Asteroid 9969 Braille.

6    Braille watches use touch but there is not enough room for the 6 dot cell so another code is employed.

7.He created a music code in 1929.

8. Louis Braille played the piano, cello and organ. 

9. 63 different patterns are possible with 2 rows of 3 dots.

10 Braille died of TB at age 43.
