The mission of the Clymer Museum and Gallery is to collect, preserve, research, and interpret the art and life of John Clymer, the art and life of his contemporaries, and the art of preceding and ensuing generations that depict and focus on the culture, life and country of Clymer’s America.
John Clymer was born in Ellensburg, WA in 1907. Over the course of his career he did many original paintings for magazines (most notably the Saturday Evening Post) & advertisements, and put many Western Americana scenes to Canvas. John Clymer wanted to paint what had never been put on canvas before, and acurately depict the events that took place during the time period.
