This is the third cache placed at Leon County's newest greenway and park. The park has 168 acres of beautiful hiking and biking trails, a regulation baseball diamond for Little League games, a multi-purpose field for Pop-Warner youth football and a playground for the children. There are restrooms, water fountains, parking, and an education center and museum. The museum houses memorabilia about the park's namesake, Fred George. He was a farmer, property owner and game warden who lived in northwest Leon County. The descendants donated this land to Leon County to be turned into this park and greenway.
Azalea Gold is a Travel Bug hotel and is starting out with four TBs. Cache also contains many trade items, a log book and a surprise FTF gift! I've included a pen with the log, but just in case my pen grow legs, BYOP. As always, when caching or hiking in Florida, be wary of ticks.
Congratulations to Hide N Mighty for a very quick FTF! This cache is placed with permission from Leon County Parks and Recreation.
