Geocache Description:

The 8th in our series of caches (or 'treasures' as they're called by our 4 year old little boy) that were all made up by him (with a little assistance from Dad) - The Sandton Field & Study Recreation Centre #1.

This is another FUN one where Kids, Mom's and Dad's will have to put beady eyes to work. The GC is pretty central in the park but can be searched for without attracting too much attention, but please still be aware of the many muggles. At the GC, please be aware of little 'grassy' thorns that are more a nuisance than a concern.! The Sandton Field and Study Centre [SFSC]  is a recreational park and community facility that focuses on the development of skills for all ages, recreation and leisure.

The Sandton Field and Study Centre can be found in Parkmore and offers a variety of courses and programmes such as art lessons, bridge, photography and webdesign, cooking classes as well as domestic cooking and home baking. There are also various clubs such as Pilates, senior exercise, Smoke Enders, stretch and tone body conditioning, Boot Camp for ladies and kids yoga. The premises also has a wonderful permanent jungle gym area for the kids and a restaurant to sit back and enjoy a meal or drink.

Constantly frequented by Horses, Runners, Walkers, Dogs and often host to weekend food & craft beer markets. On weekends there's plenty traffic in this park, but obviously be aware of your personal safety and security. You can park very close to this GC after passing through the SFSC main entrance and take a short (less than 1km) walk to the GC - whilst you're there, why not go for a longer walk around the park - you won't regret this and this is one or two other GC's to be found.

PLEASE REPLACE AS YOU FOUND IT...!

Our little boy started geocaching with us at the age of 3 in Dec 2014 and absolutely loves it, especially the GC's large enough to have lots of goodies to look through. He's now almost as good as us at finding GC's that are within his reach/height.!

Accordingly, he was very excited to hit the shops to buy goodies, bottles, notepads, pencils, etc and to pack his 'treasures' ready for deployment.

We discussed this hiding place with him and agreed where the GC should go. He hid it for other kids (& adults) to enjoy finding, opening, looking through, trading and enjoying.

This is a small GC, well disguised and hidden inside of a natural object. Not meant to be a difficult find nor is the terrain challenging. Note that my GPS had 3m accuracy at all reading times. You can park quite close to the GC, but rather take some time and walk a longer distance. If you're on wheels or a fit walker, then you can access this GC from the Braamfontein Spruit Trail (see previous GC's for more details).

There is a pencil and sharpener to sign the log book and keep the pencil sharp. You can trade small items and please do.
