Wycheproof railway station is a closed railway station on the Kulwin rail line. The line that runs through the town is unique in Victoria as it runs through the middle of the main street. Wycheproof Railway Station was constructed in 1887 by Hossack & Brown on the Korong Vale-Wycheproof line. It comprises the original timber station building with gabled roof and decorated gable ends, a timber posted verandah with decorated capitals and ceiling lining. Other structures include a timber goods shed, a timber lamp room and remnants of an original turntable and crane. Over time this disused station had been let fall prey to white ants and time had taken its toll on the old structure. Recently Vic Track obtained a grant to restore the Wycheproof Railway Station & Goods Shed. Work has now been completed and the Station has now been returned to its former glory. Another piece of history saved for future generations.
