Geocache Description:

A lovely place to stop for a sandwich and cuppa on the way to Whitby or back.  A lovely place to go for a walk and enjoy the views across the moors and to the sea.

A regular lock and lock box containing a log book and pencil, swaps and a TB.

FTF gift also.

Watch your hands when searching, you may get prickled.

Beacons have long been used as a form of communication.  Originally a fire set on a high point, it was used to warn of approaching enemies giving warning to get defences ready.  They could also be used by ships for navigation.  More recently they are used for celebration, such as for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

If you take a walk it is clear how far you can see in all directions - an excellent place for a beacon.
