In the late 1950's and very early 1960's my dad would bring Mom and us four kids here to wash the car and cool off a little. We never got to swim in round hole but back then the river had more water flowing than today, so it was perfect for us to splash around in the river itself. Yes he would drive the car out into the river "about four inches deep at the most" just to scare us, and we would skip rocks, and cool off!
