4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

Rescue Me...

This cache has been placed by The Wheat Bombs 3 to recognise the work done by the NSW Rescue Helicopter in the Illawarra located here at Albion Park Airport. We are located in the Eastern end of the HARS museum, with a new purpose built base scheduled for 2017 further East of the Museum.

Our aircraft is an Augusta Westland 139 twin engine helicopter. It is staffed 24/7 by Specialist Critical Care Paramedics & Doctors provided by NSW Ambulance Service & NSW Health. The Aircrew consists of a Pilot and Air Crewman who are currently, and for the past 11 years provided by CHC.

A change in the NSW Health contract in 2017 sees a change in aviation provider from CHC to TOLL, which will bring a new Base and the latest model of the AW139 aircraft but no change to service delivery to the community of NSW.

We average approximately 45 jobs per month. We cover the entire state of NSW and sometimes reach into Queensland to the North and Victoria to the South.

Our jobs range from moving critical patients from country centres to large city centres, to winching patients from the ocean, off boats, off cliffs, out of canyons or remote bush land to landing on pre - hospital accident scenes to provide definitive care and transport to those who need it most.

I obviously work as part of the crew and am always working hard to recruit more of the Team into geocaching. Hope you enjoy this cache and give the guys a wave if you see them.

***Congratulations go to NJMJ Tribe for a very snappy FTF, sometimes a quiet night shift has it's benefits!

While in the area please grab the near by cache Plane View.

The mosquitoes are very active in the area so please wear repellent!!

BYO pen/pencil.
