Geocache Description:

Short 10 minute hike to a long tunnel in Wahaiwa Hills.  Quick hike that can easily be done in slippahs if you choose the right path.

CO in Tunnel

My 6-year-old son and I set out on the Wahiawa Hills trails this Saturday morning in an attempt to find "The Bravest Pup".  We kept getting within about 200-300 feet of the cache but it seems we were on the wrong trail.  About 3 different times we were SO close, but the terrain would not let us get to the cache (we will be back).  On our last attempt, I took us down a ravine from the large tree bridge (here).

Bridge

We got within about 230 feet or so and could go no further so we decided to turn around.  Major kudos to my 6 year old who stuck with me in this terrain!  On our way back to the car we found this tunnel and we thought it was the perfect place for a cache.  My son has claimed this as his first cache and even exclaimed, "Boom! There it is!" after it was in place.

Directions:  Park at the end of California.  Enter by the water towers and turn left before you head down the steep hill.  Do not violate signs that read, "Private Property."  There is only one prominent trail in this direction that will take you straight to the cache.  The posted coordinates are for the entrance to the tunnel.  Follow the tunnel to the far back for the cache.

!! Congrats to GeoGerms & 808ladybug for making the FTF !!
