This cache has been placed for the CCARS16 event, held June 4-5, 2016. It should not be found prior to 10:00am on Saturday 4th June, 2016. Caches for the CCARS16 event are published early so the geocaching community can plan their search routes before the event starts.

When I told my daughter river baboon about this category for the event she wanted to make a cache. She asked me what kind of caches I thought people really liked for the events, I told her that with mine they seemed to enjoy traditionals with cool field puzzles and a neat theme like my movie caches. She said that's what she wanted to do and she had recently learned about something that she wanted to use for a field puzzle. Next river baboon got all the stuff for her puzzle ready and showed me how it worked, I have to say it was a pretty cool idea, after a little tweaking and a suggestion from daddy Diddy on how to make it a little trickier and good for a geo puzzle she was set to come up with a container. She remembered a container we had worked on together for one of my earlier caches and asked if I thought it would work to hold her field puzzle, I thought it was perfect. She wanted to give the cache and puzzle a movie theme but she could not think of a cool movie that worked with the puzzle and asked me if I knew one, I told her about this movie that I really liked that kind of fit well with her theme, she said lets use that one so we got busy designing her cache page with the movie theme. A few days later we went out for a walk to find a good spot to hide the cache, she found the perfect hiding spot and I was kind of jealous at the location she chose .... such a pretty little spot. All in all helping river baboon with her first CCARS cache was a lot of fun and her idea even gave me an idea for one of my own caches .... river baboon and I hope you enjoy her first CCARS cache.

Pump Up The Volume

River Baboon wanted me to come up with a cool movie to theme her cache page after so I told her about this old favorite of mine. Pump Up The Volume is a 1990 film starring Christian Slater as Hard Harry a Pirate Radio DJ who has taken over the airwaves in his Arizona town. Hard Harry uses his pirate radio broadcast to rant against the injustices and hypocrisies taking place in the area, and in society in general. I really liked this film as a young adult because as a teen I often dreamed of having my own cool radio show to express my opinions and play all the cool alternative New Wave music I was into.

What you are looking for at ground zero is a (6"x6"x16") Black Box. It is meant to represent the boom box I used to carry around with me when I would roam the streets of my small town as a teen listening to all the late night alternative music shows I could find. Always on the search for the perfect Pirate Radio broadcast so I could sit back close my eyes and Pump Up The Volume.

Once you find the boom box there will be a field puzzle that will need to be solved in order to access the logbook. Information from this cache page may be needed to complete the feild puzzle so it is advised to either have a copy of this page or have access to this page when at the site.

Good Luck & Have Fun

* Please do not post spoilers in your logs or photos and do not give away the solution to the feild puzzle to others, lets keep this fun for everyone.
