The first stage of a stunning walk through woodlands running alongside the River Dee in some stunning countryside. This landrover track takes you from South Deeside Road through to Polhollick Bridge and to the caches at the other side of the river down to Picnic Spot and is accessible for everyone. This walk is especially child friendly with a flat surface and no real hills to speak of.
Parking can be found in the centre of Ballater or there is space for a car or two at N57 02.477 W003 03.376. This is currently a return walk due to Polhollick being closed but will hopefully join up with the rest of the circular route in the not too distant future.
Woodlands always bring that vague risk of fire so here's highlighting some firebeaters on the travels. Nearby you will find a cache waiting to be signed.
