We tried placing this a few days earlier but were foiled by close proximity to other caches (as the crow flies). It is the only cache (so far) on this particular track but easily combined with others in the area to make for a good loop walk. While you may feel isolated on this track you are in full view of anyone walking the nearby Rapaki Track and voices do carry across the valley quite clearly so stealth may be required.
Because I had to move the cache I only had my smartphone to check co-ordinates today. Gps on the phone was reading accurate to 3m and it was as accurate as Bumbly2's Gps the other day. She found the walk a bit of a struggle so didn't come back with me but I regularly do this walk with a 2yr old on my back. I find it a much more interesting walk than the slog that is Rapaki, but it is more technical in places.
