How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

I am a Scout Leader and therefore the Queen is my organisations Patron; this coupled with the fact she's my boss in work I thought it would be nice to hold a birthday party for her.

N.B. The 11th June is the Queen's public birthday.

THE QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

This will take the form of a child's birthday party with games, activities and food (please if you can bring some nibbles, buffet style food along).

There will also be a few Geocaching type activities and games to keep you entertained.

TIME

3pm Start - We will be there from around 11am for any eager beavers who may want to help us mowing grass, trimming bushes, chopping wood, etc. (bring some gardening tools).

6pm Finish - Some of us plan to camp so no need to rush off afterwards, stay as long as you want or camp!

DONATION

It is a Scout campsite so we are asking for a £2 donation if possible to cover the renting of the site and in return we will provide tea/coffee/squash. We will also have a campfire and provide the batter for Twists (don't know what they are, make sure you come along and find out).

FACILITIES

There is running water on site, a toilet (a Scout toilet in a shed so you may wish to use the pub), two washing up sinks, campfire circle, grass field, shelter area (in case of rain), trees for hammocking and a small hard standing.

The site is semi wheelchair friendly, the toilet is not (no hand rails - standard toilet), there is a flat field and also a reasonable size patio area. Pushchairs and children should be fine. Dogs are allowed providing you do the necessary. Any queries on this message me.

In case of rain or bad weather we will provide shelters, the event will go ahead!

TRAVEL

Easy access by car, see parking in the notes.

It is a few minutes walk from Ebbw Vake Parkway Railway Station (you can access the site from the bottom entrance off Park Road).

ACCOMODATION

There is plenty of camping space so bring a tent or hammock in the trees. There is a small amount of hard standing for small campervans (I mean small, so contact me first) or alternatively the side of the road where the parking is (it's a long dead end street on an industrial estate so should be fine). Alternatively for the less adventurous Cacher who still wants to take part there is a Premier Inn next to the Railway Station and literally at the bottom of the campsite with a Brewers Fayre Pub also there for food & drinks.

**If you plan to camp please let me know numbers.
