Geocache Description:

The cache series is designed to take you on a journey through some of the history and eventual amalgamation of the St Leonards and Indented Head Fire Brigades.

This is a quick park and grab along the beautiful foreshore of Indented Head.  Be warned- this is a very popular area for holiday makers during Summer, so stealth is definitely required!

Originally registered on 8 October 1951, the Indented Head Rural Fire Brigade had 20 registered members.  The Brigade vehicles consisted of a home made trailer with a water tank installed, and was towed by a 1938 Dodge vehicle converted to a ‘land jeep’.  This vehicle was also accompanied by a number of knapsacks.  Equipment such as this was typical in a 'rural' fire brigade.

Travelling further South of where this cache is placed and you will see the Indented Head tennis courts.  According to records, this was to be the site of the Indented Head Fire Station.  The build did not go ahead, and the Brigade was without a station – leaning more towards a merge with St Leonards Brigade.

You are looking for a small sistema container that has the actual themed cache inside which is designed to stay in the container. Happy hunting!
