A small cache nestled between the Hockey Stadium and the new training ground for the Phoneix.
Once upon a time there was a young man who was moving back to Canada after spending some fun times geocaching and studying at the Coolest Little Capital in the World.
This young man, lets call him Heathtree, had a whole pile of geocaching stuff that he couldn't take back to the land of Bears and Maple Syrup. So he sent out a message to see if anyone wanted it. Beanadventures jumped at the chance of free stuff and was soon knocking on his door. And it was an awesome haul of stuff!
This is the second cache made using some of Heathtree's box of tricks.
SAFETY - please be very careful crossing the road to get this GZ. The best place to park is the hockey carpark and cross the Mount Albert Road at the car park entrance, where the road is flatter and with more visability. Or park further down Mt Albert Road and walk up the verge next to Martin Luckie Park.
What is going on at Martin Luckie Park? Two fields are being upgraded to an elite training level for the Phoenix to train on. The plan is for the Phoenix to start training in Spring 2016 on the new sand-based fields, mostly on weekdays from 8am to 4pm. The fields will be a community facility the rest of the time (hopefully!) This also means that the nearby Newtown Park No 2 pitch is expected to opened up for community sport.
The logbook holder is small, the cache itself is about 50cm long.
