I don't know whether they are great trail dogs but they apparently have a primal need to walk and and are very intelligent so maybe they can be taught to find caches.
They certainly are unique.

This series of caches is on a snow mobile trail. Please be careful. Snowmobiles of today can travel at very high speeds and their drivers may not expect to see geocachers or their dogs on their trail. If you hear one please stay well off the trail.
