Vigoro ( cricket when you are not playing cricket) was invented in 1901 and uses a paddle as the bat. The balls is thrown and not bowled. If the ball is hit forward of the crease the batter must run. The batter could be called out in all the same ways as cricket. There are 12 member of each team. Over the years there has been interstate competition between NSW, QLD, and Tassie. There were 3 grades, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade and the veterans. Pleased to say NSW held their own in these competition.
After I retired from the game, I still saw the girls playing for many years, however I haven't seen them there for a while now.
