Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the posted cords!  The posted cords will take you an artesian well in the middle of the forest.

Jennings State Forest Contains the North Fork of Black Creek.   An artesian aquifer is a confined aquifer containing groundwater under positive pressure. This causes the water level in a well to rise to a point where Hydrostatic equilibrium has been reached. This well has been capped off and has spigots to allow access to the water.  Due to the high sulfer content, the water has an odor of rotten eggs.

When water reaches the ground surface under the natural pressure of the aquifer, the well is called a:

1) Drilled artesian well  N30 09.354 W081 54.325

2) Erupting artesian well N30 08.232 W081 56.548

3) Flowing artesian well N30 09.002 W081 55.568
