In 1968 on Halloween night WKBW Radio aired the audio drama of H.G. Wells War of the Worlds. The story was rewritten to take place in Western New York with the Martians landing on Pork Chop Island. For several weeks prior to the airing, the station ran commercials about what they were going to be doing, but when the radio drama aired many people were still unaware and several panicked with calls to the police. And, yes... The Deadliest Cachers were witness to the events of that adventurous evening. Below is a link to the broadcast and what unfolded that night.
