Geocache Description:

A micro in the woods on an oxbow island in the river near the new East Cannon River Trail.

Different approaches to this cache are available depending on the season. In the summer if the water isn't too high you can easily canoe to it or take some tree bridges from the east to the island. In the winter if the water is low and frozen the cache could more easily be reached by land again from the east. Note that the new East Cannon River Trail connecting Northfield and Dundas is so-called because it's on the east side of the Cannon River. There is no East Cannon River although this oxbow is on the east side of the river. At the moment the trail has been cleared but there is so much stubble to be removed and permanent bridges to be built that biking is not recommended. However the plans are to pave the trail by this fall. When finished the trail will complete a pleasant biking loop between the two mill towns.
