Geocache Description:

A geocache located in the picturesque village of Derwen Gam, also known as Oakford, on a piece of land that represents the strong sense of community that exists between the villagers today.

(Cymraeg/Welsh) Geocache sydd wedi'i leoli ym mhentref prydferth Derwen Gam, a elwir hefyd yn Oakford, ar ddarn o dir sy'n cynrychioli'r ysbryd cymunedol sy'n bodoli ymhlith y pentrefwyr heddiw.

This bilingual geocache is located in Derwen Gam, also known as Oakford, a village that was once a trading centre for the area. The old store which stands in the centre of the village was built during the 19th century by landowner and first shopkeeper Morgan Evans and the row of cottages to the north housed craftspeople who supplied goods to be sold in his shop. Today, the village retains its sense of community and this small geocache has been placed on a piece of land that is maintained by the villagers for locals and visitors to enjoy.

(Cymraeg/Welsh) Mae'r geocache dwyieithog yma wedi'i leoli yn y Dderwen Gam, a elwir hefyd yn Oakford, a fu unwaith yn ganolfan fasnachol i'r ardal. Cafodd yr hen siop sy'n sefyll yng nghanol y pentref ei hadeiladu yn ystod y 19eg ganrif gan y tirfeddianwr a'r siopwr cyntaf Morgan Evans ac roedd y rhes o fythynod sydd i'r gogledd yn gartref i grefftwyr a oedd yn darparu nwyddau i'w gwerthu yn ei siop. Heddiw, mae gan y pentref ysbryd cymunedol o hyd ac mae'r geocache bychan hwn wedi ei osod ar ddarn o dir sy'n cael ei gynnal a'i gadw gan y pentrefwyr er mwyn i bobl leol ac ymwelwyr ei fwynhau.
