Geocache Description:

If you visited my “Remembering the 70’s” cache, you learned that I grew up close to this area.  The cache location for this hide brings you to an old ski hill.  We used to come here occasionally with our sleds when it was no longer an active ski hill.  We only sledded down from the half-way point because as much fun as it was to go down, it was a very steep hill to walk back up in snow.  Not to mention if you started any higher than that, you may have wiped out pretty badly.

As for the cache container, I placed this in tribute to a movie that came out in May of 1977.  We got to see this in the movie theater with my dad.  We rarely, if ever, went out to eat, let alone go to a movie theater, so this was quite the treat back then!  2016 is a special year for this same movie.  Can you guess what it is?

You will need to do a little work to find the log (you will see what I mean when you get here).  Please replace everything as you found it to keep it fun for the next finder.  Be sure to cover the container back up too.

You do not need to hike up the ski hill.  I parked at the parking coordinates, crossed the road, walked a little bit east and found a trail by the State Forest sign that took me to the top of the ski hill.  There are several ways to get to this one and you can even hike to it from my other 70’s hide. I am giving this a higher terrain rating due to possible raspberry bushes and thorns you may encounter.  Some approaches are friendlier than others.  I would recommend long pants to find this one.  There is a small prize for the FTF!!  Enjoy your visit.

**This is a hunting area, so wear blaze orange during hunting seasons.**

The Geocache Placement Notification form has been filed with the DNR.  Permission to place this was granted on May 9, 2016 by Anne Korman with the Kettle Moraine State Forest Southern Unit DNR Headquarters.

Congratulations to Forkycache for the FTF!!
