Ferry Crossing
This is one of many historical sites in the area :
The first commercial ferry service across Wallace lake commenced around 1890,  when John Kennewell  started a service using a  Row boat to ferry passages across the lake. In 1906 John Newman took over  and employed do use of the second row boat. 1922 saw the introduction of the first vehicle ferry and a six car punt entered the system in 1937  built bye Frank Avery from Tuncurry for the department of Main Roads.
