Church information:
The church is just around the corner from Snuff Mills a nice park leading to the Oldbury Court Estate. There is a cafe in the entrance road to the car park, a short walking distance from this cache. It is also just off the junction of Park Road and Frenchay Park Road, within sight of Duchess Gates mini roundabout, which is the entrance to Dower House Estate, another park worthy of a vist and there are some caches here!
The church meets for worship each Sunday. Brownies and Rainbows use the hall some evenings.
History of the church:
Stapleton Baptist church is a small simple rural chapel built in 1835, now finding itself within the city of Bristol, yet still preserving a village feel around its location. It is situated above the River Frome, close to Snuff Mills. The church-goer on his rural rides in the C19 attended a service here and commented on the neat chapel. It is a small but elegant building with a windowless frontage which has a pediment, pilasters and porch. The sides of the chapel have simple round headed windows. There is a stable block attached to the church. Inside it has a pleasant interior, with modern seats now replacing the pews and has an organ/pulpit arrangement.
