Beautiful Banyans Traditional Cache

The Strand is a 2.2km long, custom-built beachfront promenade, where you can enjoy shady walkways, safe swimming beaches, picturesque picnic spots, a water park, playgrounds, restaurants and more, all with million dollar views across to Magnetic Island.

The centre of this beautiful esplanade is Strand Park which hosts many events including monthly night markets on the first Friday of each month from May to December.

At the Western side of the park you will find a beautiful Banyan Tree. One of many along the Strand.

A Banyan is a Fig that starts it's life as a plant growing on another plant (an Epiphyte). In much the same way this bison tube is positioned as if it were growing from one of many limbs.

You will need to be at your stealthiest here as there are cars and a police beat station on one side and a picnic table and BBQ on the other. A night visit may be your best plan of attack.
