Chuck Walla: Hello PrairieGypsies,

Geocaching HQ flagged this cache as one that may need attention and sent you an email about it. Some time after that, I disabled your cache and requested that you check on your cache and perform any necessary maintenance. Since you have not responded to my reviewer log about your cache by posting a note to your cache page to tell me and others of your intention to address the issue with it, the cache has been archived at the direction of Geocaching HQ.

Geocache Description:

This is a 5-part series of caches placed as part of the project completed by the Little Gypsy in earning her Girl Scout Silver Award.  As part of GS Cadette Troop 3222, she and her sister scouts re-claimed the neglected "Teaching Nature Trail" at Arcadia Lake, which was completely overgown and in a state of disrepair.

"On the Way to the Teaching Trail #1 through 4" caches will lead you close to the Trail Head of the Teaching Trail.  "Sit a Spell on the Teaching Trail" cache can be found while hiking the trail, at about the half-way point.  After finding "on the way #1-4" caches, come enjoy the Teaching Trail, an easy @30 minute nature hike (and find the cache on the trail!).

Two Options:

Summer (approx. April 1 - Nov. 1) ~ you will have to pay a fee to enter the park, but you will be able to drive and park directly by each cache in this series.

Winter (approx. Nov. 1 - April 1) ~ no fee to enter main gate, but you will have to leave your car at the parking lot (by UCO Center for Outdoor Adventure Recreation) and walk quite a distance to reach all the caches in this series, as roads are gated shut.

General Info:

Arcadia Lake's Edmond Park has camping, picnicing, fishing, playground, pavillions, beach, and boatramp.  Day use is considered 7am-10pm.  Seasonal fees are: per vehicle weekend $7, weekday $6.

Sit a Spell on the TT Info:

If you love to be in nature, but not totally challenged or killed by it ~ this is the cache for you!  Where once the trail was completely overgrown with brambles, now it even has places that feature wood chips.  All thanks to the Girl Scouts!  The cache is an ammo can [please do a good job covering it back up] found at about the half-way point of this easy, <30 minute trail hike. Be sure and hike the entire trail ~ don't go back the way you came. There are purple arrow signs to direct you (we hope the parks dept. has gotten them all placed!).  We love this Oklahoma nature trail (now that all the hard work is almost done), and we wanted to share it with all our caching buddies!
