These woods are on the grounds of the old brickworks in Wyesham, Monmouth. Although they may look a little rough, it is only a relatively new woodland. The trees there were planted as part of the Claypatch development in the late 1970's, have a look at how the trees are planted (the builders were good at putting up houses, less good at planting trees!) The woods are now being looked after by the Wyesham Community Woodland group, future plans for the woods include better paths, a pond, and firepits. The woods themselves form the start of a little walk that myself and my little cacher often take. They can be reached either by parking in Wyesham, or by parking in Monmouth town itself and walking across the fantastic Wye Bridge. The cache container itself is a sneaky nano located close to one of the entrances to the woods. The coordinates are a bit out for the new cache location, when you enter the woods from the bottom take the first path on your left.
