The Santa Fe Trail (SFT) has been extended on the southern end to better connect to the Central Business District/Deep Ellum and Fair Park.
The Santa Fe Trail is a paved pedestrian/cycling trail that connects Deep Ellum/Fair Park with the White Rock Lake and White Rock Creek trails. The north terminus is at W. Lawther Drive on the western shore of White Rock Lake. The trail is now listed as 5.3 miles long. The new southern extension runs along a DART right of way.
The SFT branches west to Elm street across from Sons of Hermann Hall at 3414 Elm.

The SFT branches east under I-30 to Fair Park at Parry and Haskell.

The White Rock Lake Park Loop Trail connects to the White Rock Creek Greenbelt Trail. It is now possible to bike from Fair Park to Valley View Park at 635 & Hillcrest Rd.
