Geocache Description:

This is why we can't have nice things. This cache was placed on the instrument panel of an old houseboat about 35 feet under water, when lake levels are normal (1120ish). The log was a dive slate with a pencil attached. The skull and dive slate have been scuba-muggled. This cache was intended to bring you to see this awesome boat. Please sign the boat as the log. Nobody is going to steal that.

Scuba certification & equipment are necessary. Do NOT attempt this cache without proper training and equipment.

A new underwater attraction has been placed in the Beaver Lake Dam Site North Cove Scuba Park. The coordinates are approximate, so a shore dive following these instructions will provide the best chance of finding the cache:

Enter the water at the far north end of the parking area adjacent to the north side of the boat ramp. There is a tree there with a small dive flag (approx 1 inch square). Descend straight out from that tree. When you find the dive platform (there is a line leading to it), turn left (north) and follow another line to the sunken jet ski. There are 2 lines attached to the jet ski. One leads farther north to several boats and another training platform. The other is (currently) bright green and leads east. Follow the green line to the east. It will lead you straight to the houseboat where the cache is located.

Watch the video here, (visit link) to see us placing the cache and a few other highlights of the placement dive. Dive safe!! NOTE: there is a $4.00 day use fee if you park at the site. Permission granted for cache placement by Ranger Alan Bland.
