Here is a fairly easy hike to see Fintasa Falls located in Inarajan. The actual falls are quite scenic, but I do think they have a more “industrial” feel. I think you’ll understand when you see the now abandoned material at the top of the falls.
Park at the end of the road that passes the Inarajan Middle School. Walk the well-defined path down and past the tank and communication tower. At the bottom of the hill don’t forget to check out Laolao Falls to the left. For Fintasa Falls walk around the shack and cross the river. Be careful as I saw three caribou tied up along the river here. You may need to walk upstream a bit to avoid being within reach of the first animal and then cross the river. Soon you will see another shack. Cross back over the river and proceed to a 4WD trail going up the hill. Continue up the hill to the large hill of red dirt. The location of the cache may make you want to turn left here, but turn right to avoid all the sword grass. Continue walking around the hill and proceed down another 4WD path to the falls. If you are unable to climb down the face of the falls there is also a rope. While at the top of the falls looking out turn left and walk over the rocks and look for a rope tied to a pipe. Take caution at the bottom. The wet rock face is very slippery. You may consider walking around the far side of the pool in the grass.
From parking to the cache should take less than an hour and is just under 1 mile. Have fun!
