Geocache Description:

Number 63 of 101 geocaches placed in the Harris County Precinct 4 GeoChallenge! Dawn to Dusk only.

Sponsored by Harris County Precinct 4, the Precinct 4 GeoChallenge features a series of 101 geocaches that participants can find for the opportunity to earn pathtags/geocoins. The 63rd geocache is located along Phase IV of the Spring Creek Greenway trail.

About the GeoChallenge

Each geocache contains unique collectible bottle caps and a unique code, either of which can be used to earn pathtags. Simply write down the code on your Precinct 4 GeoChallenge Series Passport and/or collect a bottle cap to prove that you have found the cache. Those who collect 25, 50, or 75 unique codes/bottle caps can earn bronze, silver, or gold-level pathtags. Geocachers who find all 101 geocaches will receive a custom-minted geocoin. Only one of each bottle cap is allowed per participant. Please visit the Precinct 4 GeoChallenge Series web pages for more information or to download your passport.

Geocaches are located throughout Precinct 4 from Greens Bayou Wetland Mitigation Bank in the east to Dyess Park in the west and Roy Campbell Burroughs Park in the north and Memorial Park in the south.

About the Spring Creek Greenway

The Spring Creek Greenway trail is a 10 to 12-foot wide paved trail, and extends over 16.5 miles, connecting Harris County Precinct 4's Dennis Johnston Park in Spring, Texas and Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center in Humble, Texas. The Stahl Preserve, a 146-acre nature preserve featuring a fishing lake, mature magnolia trees, and an abundance of wildlife and plant species, is located between the two parks. Also nestled between Pundt Park and Jones Park is Carter Park, a 189-acre facility with a 12-lane archery shooting range; bicycling, equestrian and nature trails; a pavilion; picnic tables; a canoe launch; and access to fishing along Spring Creek.

Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner R. Jack Cagle officially opened the second phase of the Spring Creek Greenway trail in March 2012 and the third phase in 2014. “I am proud to be a part of this project that involved the work of many people who share the vision of preserving and protecting the green spaces for Harris and Montgomery counties,” stated Cagle.

Land purchases along Spring Creek began in the 1970s and shortly thereafter Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center became a reality. Now, more than 30 years later, the land purchases and continual development have grown to a concept that will include over 40 linear miles and protect up to 12,000 acres of wooded preserve.

Visit the Spring Creek Greenway trail today to experience the great outdoors! Whether you enjoy biking or hiking, bird or wildlife watching, canoeing or kayaking, or riding horses, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Public entry to the Spring Creek Greenway trail can be gained at Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center located at 20634 Kenswick Drive in Humble, Bill and Ellen Carter Park located at 1800 Treaschwig Road in Spring, Pundt Park located at 4129 Spring Creek Drive in Spring, and Dennis Johnston Park located at 709 Riley Fuzzel Road in Spring. All parks open at 8 a.m. and close at dusk.
