SRT Bonnyville Round Up and Challenge

Bonnyville is well known for its community spirit and nothing comes close to the excitement and camaraderie of the Bonnyville Pro Rodeo and Chuckwagon Championships. This four day event takes place July 21 – 24, 2016 and features a midway, kids day, pancake breakfast, rodeo dance, chili cook off and all the rodeo and chuckwagon action you’ll ever want!

The Bonnyville Pro Rodeo Chuckwagon Association invites you to be a cowboy/cowgirl for a day. Join them at the Rodeo Grounds on Thursday, July 7th from 1:00 – 4:00pm and find out if you are a roper, farrier or a barrel racer. Just like in real rodeo, you have to successfully complete your event. You’ll receive a Rodeo Certificate and have an opportunity to get your picture taken with a real cowboy! Bring your camera.

Bonnyville Challenge:

Get to know Bonnyville! This challenge is open to all participants and can be completed at your leisure on Wednesday, July 6th or Thursday, July 7th. Your challenge starts where Bonnyville started. Angus Shaw, a clerk for the North West Company, established a trading post near Moose Lake in 1789.

A series of caches and encrypted messages will guide you on your journey. Your stops will have you visiting some of the historic sites to reaching new heights at the Centennial Centre where you will not want to be a Humpty Dumpty!

Shaw House at Vezeau Beach which is open from 8:30am – 8:00pm – no entry fee
Bonnyville Museum which is open from 10:00am – 5:00pm – donations accepted
Bonnyville Centennial Centre which is open on Thursday, July 7th from 1:00 – 4:00pm – no entry fee. This is the only time it will be open to complete this stop. There is free wifi here so feel free to post your photos.

Once you complete the challenge, join the Bonnyville Round Up on July 7th between 1:00 – 4:00pm to present your ‘number’ which gets your name in a draw for a weekend pass for two to the Bonnyville Pro Rodeo and Chuckwagon Challenge.
