How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed on private property in a homeowners' association built on a former apple (and other fruit) orchard.  Enjoy the view of the row of original apple trees in the park across the street!  This cache is placed with permission of the homeowner.  Please respect the neighboring properties.  This cache is an obvious hide and should be spotted as you walk from the parking area!  No night caching, please!

This cache is in honor of appledon and his wife, Margie!  Those who know appledon and remember his wife will be very familiar with the location of this cache. We are publishing this cache on Father's Day - because there is no better way to say Happy Father's Day to a guy with over 20,000 caches!  Plus, it will give him an easy cache to find on the day of our Father's Day picnic!

Father's Day also marks the passing of our mother, 5 years ago.  Thanks to appledon, Margie loved geocaching as well.  She loved all the new places she was able to see in her retirement years, and was proud of her hiking ability.  Geocaching made every day an exciting adventure, and it was a hobby she and appledon enjoyed together.

Geocaching has been a part of our family since appledon began caching in 2006. At some point, during every family event, the question "Who wants to grab a few caches?" is asked. There are always a few daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren ready to hop in the car.  The geocaching seed has been planted in the next generations!
