This cache is placed in the Enlarged Erie Canal prism. From the mid 1840’s until 1916, this area WAS the canal! Note along the way the remnants of the canal walls. To the north the wall supported the towpath leading up to or coming off from the Schoharie Creek Aqueduct.
The coords put you nearby but use your senses to locate this cache.
This area is within the boundaries of the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site. Thousands of visitors come to the site each year so be alert for muggles.
