This cache is dedicated to hiking_fool, who placed the original Everyman's Cache (GC17K9G) on 11/24/2007. Unfortunately, that cache was lost to the Waldo Canyon wildfire (June-July 2012) and was then archived. The trail to this cache is now back open to hikers, and we have worked with hiking_fool to ensure it was OK for us to place another cache in this spot. This cache is 35 feet from where the original was.
THIS INFORMATION IS TAKEN FROM THE DESCRIPTION OF THE ORIGINAL EVERYMAN'S CACHE, AND STILL APPLIES; the difficulty and terrain ratings, along with the container size and type are also the same as the original cache.
Just off the trail to Smokey's Stash. This WAS an Additional Logging Requirements (ALRs) cache where certain requirements had to be met before logging the cache.
Back when ALR caches were legal and I saw that they were becoming common, I thought I'd better jump in with my own. To log this cache you MUST have had to meet ALL the following (no longer true - April 2009):
1) You must have previously found a cache in Colorado that was placed on or after 7/2/2000;
2) The cache claimed in 1) must have at least one character from the following set: a-z, A-Z,0-9,!,@,#,$,%,^,&,*,(,),",',? ("Previously known as..." is acceptable.);
3) Your geocaching name must have at least one character from the list in 2).
You will be looking for a small ammo can a short distance off the trail.
CONGRATULATIONS to hartsdale for being FTF !
