Geocache Description:

Built in 1929, these beautiful stone steps lead up the hillside known as Grampian Hills. This area was developed by local  businessman Frank Plankenhorn. The entrance to Grampian Hills still stands in much the same way as it did then. Directly behind the entrance begins the stone steps and pathways that climb the hillside through magestic old pines. Although most of this path touches private property, the path itself is welcome to the public.

Begin your journey at the entrance to Grampian Hills. The coordinates will take you within feet of the cache by vehicle for those who prefer not to walk. Please bring a pen to sign log. However for a more enjoyable cache experience, please park near the stone entrance and begin your trek up the steps and path. The stairs will continue past the cache and you are welcome to follow to the top to witness the large white cross. Although the stairway itself looks heavenly from the entrance, if you continue to the top, you will be greeted to an enormous white cross in the field. The path will lead you to the field, turn right at the water reservior tanks and it will be straight ahead. I'm told they still hold Easter services here, much the same as they did in the 1930's. Please be respectful at all times while on the trail, you will not need to disturb anything on the path or steps to find the cache. Cache is located in a cammoed pill bottle somewhere along the steps. You will NOT need to leave the path to locate this cache.
