Barking Collies: ==Cache Note==

Despite this being a popular spot for drive-bys, I will archive due to poor container. Thanks to all who visited.

==ARCHIVE NOTE==
Thank you to all who have visited this cache over the past few years. Unfortunately I no longer have time to maintain all my caches. I think I was too focussed on the quantity of caches I placed, rather than the quality. In hindsight, I would have liked to have hidden regular or large containers in very scenic locations, rather than magnetic micro caches in grim parts of town.

If I have time in future, I may consider hiding a few caches in the countryside with lots of room for swaps.

Geocache Description:

This cache is part of our 'Holy Moor Hobble' series, a circuit of 6 caches hidden on an afternoon stroll over Holy Moor. The Moor gets its name from the monks which travelled from Beauchief Abbey near Dore to Harewood Grange, the monks had to cross the moor here.

The walk is about 2.75 miles and takes about 1.5 - 2 hours depending on walking speed and finding speed. 2-3 of the caches can be done as drive bys but to get the great views and the exercise it is better doing the walk. Caches 1 and 2 are hidden on a Bridleway and are therefore accessible on bikes and on foot. 4 and 5 are hidden on a footpath so walkers only. 3 and 6 are hidden on roads so can be attempted by all.

The walk includes steep gradients, bracken, rocks and uneven ground and so wellies/boots are required. Some parts can get very muddy at times and watch for livestock in the fields.

Please replace all caches as found with the necessary stick/rockoflage. Non of the caches are in walls so please don't look in any.

We hope you enjoy the series.

A micro hidden at the side of Harewood Road in the Cathole area. I am unsure how Cathole got its name but I know that Doghole (near the school) was from hunting dogs and Foxhole (Slate Pit Dale) from the local fox-hunt which used to pass through the village. Quite a lot of shoots still happen throughout the village, some happen late at night which are quite annoying as they wake you up and can sometimes be heard as far away as Somersall. When I have been placing some caches I have heard guns banging from Stonedge/Moorlawn Coppice area and from Nether Loads.

Beware of cars along here and please rehide well. Stealth may be needed at times.

Numbers 1 - 6: Turn right up the path at the waypoint and follow the path signs (yellow arrows) until you reach the cache.

Numbers 6 - 1: Carry on up the road and turn right onto the path to the cache.
