Geocache Description:

Brandon’s first power trail featuring all the Mayors of the City.

Caches should all prove to be a fairly quick find on what we thought was a beautiful drive.  Hopefully you learn a little along the way as well.


Stephen Emmett Clement (1867-1947)
Stephen Emmett Clement was born in Cookstown, Ontario on Octoer 14, 1867.  He came to Brandon with his father in 1882 where he completed his education at the Collegiate Institute and Esley College in Winnipeg.  After studying law he established a law practice in Brandon with his brother.  Together they worked as solicitors for the Dominion Bank and various other loan companies.  

Stephen married Aleta Elizabeth Paisley on August 30, 1899.  They had 4 children.  Stephen was a trustee on the Brandon School Board for six years.  He was also a representative of the Council of Bar Associations for the Western Judicial District, a Bencher for the Law Society of Manitoba, Director of the Brandon General Hospital and director of the Provincial Exhibition and the Manitoba Winter Fair. 

Clement was May of Brandon 1907 to 1908.

He died in Brandon on December 31, 1947.  He is commemorated in the city by Clement Drive.
