Henry William Cater (1869-1945)
Referred to as "Harry" Born on December 4, 1869 in Whittingdon, Norfolk, England. He came to Brandon in 1889 and started a business selling pumps. He served as Vice President for the Union of Manitoba Municipalities in 1925 and 1926. He was also President of the Union of Canadian Municipalities for several terms. He was active in welfare projects and veterans' organizations.
Harry served for four years as a Brandon city alderman and was elected Mayor for the first time 1915. This cache is in honor of his second term from 1922 to 1931.
Harry died at Brandon on April 3, 1945 and is commemorated in Brandon by Cater Drive.
