On March 3, 2016 a 6" water line broke at the Indian Creek branch of the Olathe Library (which is where Hockabee's cache "There IS a library here" is located) causing the library to close indefinately. It was later determined that the leak eroded the sub-base of the foundation and the the repairs would be more extensive than one typically sees from flooding. As a result, on May 4th, 2016 the Olathe city council approved a plan to lease the old Hy-Vee location as part of a bigger plan to make the Indian Creek branch larger.
There is no timeline in place for when this new branch will open, but I wanted to drop a cache here to mark the occasion. I HOPE the placement is such that will be available through construction, but only time will tell. Currently, the large parking lot is often used by semi-trucks to park and rest, so there will likely be at least some muggle activity here.
